A Study on Performance of Surface Disinfection among Dental Personnel

Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to investigate the performance of surface disinfection among dental personnel. and seeks to promote awareness of surface disinfection in dental clinics.
It is intended to be provided as basic data for legal and institutional improvement so that the surface disinfecion of dental personnels can be effectively performed in the dental clinic.

Method: A self-report questionnaire was conducted with dental personnel working in dental clinics, dental hospitals over a one month period from September 1, 2020 to October 1, 2020.
The final 219 questionnaries were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 version.

Results: The following factors were found to affect performance of surface disinfection in dental clinics: size of workplace, infection control department, infection control guidelines, education experience, number of patients per day, treatment houres, and interest in infecion control among dentists and dental hygienists.

Conclusion: In order to improve the performance of surface disinfection, infection control personnel, departments and regulations should undergo systematic institutionalizatio
